Paola is a city located in eastern Kansas. It is located about 40 miles south of Kansas City, Missouri, and about 70 miles south of Topeka, Kansas. Also, Paola is situated in and serves as the county seat of Miami County. In 2016, Miami County was home to approximately 32,553 people and Paola was home to about 5,000 people according to the United States Census Bureau.

Various members of Native American tribes were the first inhabitants of the area surrounding Paola, Kanas. These Confederate Indian Tribes were resettled in the early 1800s. After the tribes were relocated by the United States government, many missionaries moved into the area. Paul M. Ponziglione, an Italian priest, is credited with giving Paola its name. Today, Paola is a growing community filled with charm and character.
